We at Duggal Big Picture Foundation are passionate about child education both at home and abroad, and feel a moral responsibility to both inspire and empower children through teaching tools of creative expression. The importance of photography and art for children’s confidence and esteem cannot be over-emphasized. Duggal Big Picture Foundation works with local schools and programs in the area to bring photography and creative arts to their students and children. Working with mentorship programs, school directors, and their students, DBP leads educational tours through Duggal’s printing facilities, teaches monthly art workshops, and partners with other organizations in the area who share our goals of using art to raise childrens’ esteem, education, and empowerment.

Art Is Helping

After receiving almost two letters a day from non-profits searching for donations, photographer Salem Krieger got frustrated with his inability to help all of the charities he wished to; that’s when Art is Helping was born. Launched just a couple weeks before Christmas, the organization hopes to improve the way that artists and charitable organizations interact by providing art in exchange for donations.   The idea is simple, but has the potential to cause a lot of good; you search the site for some artwork that you like, pay for it, and select the charity you wish for the proceeds to benefit. The site’s mission statement says it all: “Art Is Helping brings artists and charitable organizations together. Supporting both non-profit organizations and the artists, buyers can purchase works of art while donating to charities of their choice.”   In order to build the site, Krieger had to reach out to...

Duggal Supports Heart Gallery NYC, Helping LGBTQ Foster Kids Find “Forever Families”

Children in foster care share common goals, to find ‘forever’ families and live in a loving and stable home environment. In an effort to help them realize their dreams, 10 LGBTQ youth will be featured in the Heart Gallery NYC’s 2016 PRIDE Photo Exhibition during National Pride Month. The exhibit features the children’s portraits by award-winning photographers to kick off PRIDE season.   Duggal has been a proud supporter of the Heart Gallery since 2010. We are honored each year to produce the larger than life images of LGBTQ and other foster youth awaiting adoption, that highlight the traveling PRIDE photo exhibit.   Check back with us at Duggal Connect for more details.   For more information please contact...

The multifaceted event was aimed at raising money and awareness for poverty, and its impact on New York City. The event ended up raising more than $61.2 million to fight poverty in just one night, raising the foundations total efforts to $2.5 Billion since the organization’s inception. The center of the event took place at the Jacob Javits Center, where Grammy-winning R&B Artist Usher performed for over 4,000 attendees. This event launched Robin Hood’s new early childhood learning initiative: “For the first time, research has provided a vivid window into the rapid growth of a child’s brain during their earliest years and the damaging effects of under-stimulation or the extreme stresses of...

Eight Years Posthumous, “Ruth’s Dream” Comes True

In 2008, after artist Ruth Litoff tragically took her own life in her Manhattan apartment at age 42, Hope Litoff vowed to explore her sister’s creative brilliance and complete Ruth’s final project. Eight years later, Ruth’s Dream adorns NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue with magnificent floral beauty, just as Ruth had envisioned for the hospital where she had received such care and compassion through her tribulations.   Ruth’s Dream, in Ruth’s Words “The intention of this show is to create a sanctuary of flowers and light in an inspiring environment for the people of this city; to provide a respite from the noise and speed of the streets, a moment to stroll in a garden of luminosity, and an opportunity to slow down and experience vitality, peace and joy. This sunlit and healing space at Bellevue Hospital is the perfect greenhouse for my flowers.  The flowers in this series were...
