We at Duggal Big Picture Foundation are passionate about child education both at home and abroad, and feel a moral responsibility to both inspire and empower children through teaching tools of creative expression. The importance of photography and art for children’s confidence and esteem cannot be over-emphasized. Duggal Big Picture Foundation works with local schools and programs in the area to bring photography and creative arts to their students and children. Working with mentorship programs, school directors, and their students, DBP leads educational tours through Duggal’s printing facilities, teaches monthly art workshops, and partners with other organizations in the area who share our goals of using art to raise childrens’ esteem, education, and empowerment.

DBP Sponsors Life-Changing Documentary “I Am A Girl”

Thursday evening arrived with much anticipation of a fun New York City evening atthe American premier of the film, I Am A Girl, hosted by Girl Be Heard and sponsored by Duggal Big Picture Foundation. Excitement was high as we entered Chelsea Bow Tie Cinemas and were greeted by 6 beautiful GBH posters produced by Duggal Big Picture.A red carpet was rolled out by a stunning step and repeat backdrop also produced by Duggal. Guests were interviewed before and after, adding to the festive mood of the much anticipated premiere. None in our group, however, anticipated how profoundly affected we would feel after watching filmmaker Rebecca Barry’s powerful opus. The film “I Am A Girl” follows the lives of seven girls from across the world and the hardships and struggles they all have to face. Some stories, around issues like extreme low self-esteem, possessive or abusive boyfriends, loss of...

Pelotonia

Duggal is thrilled for a second year to saddle-up and ride with the Limited Brands and Bath & Body Works cycling team supporting Pelotonia, the Ohio-based charity committed to ending cancer. In 5 years, Pelotonia has attracted tens of thousands of riders and raised more than $73 million, with every dollar going directly to cancer research. The model of Pelotonia remains simple: the organization’s operating expenses are covered by funding partners so that 100% of every dollar raised by Pelotonia riders, virtual riders and volunteers goes directly to funding cancer research at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. A record 7,200+ fundraising cyclists joined in this year’s ride through scenic Ohio, including Duggal Visual Solutions CEO Mike Duggal, VP of Creative Services Jerid O’Connell and Senior Consultant Marina Stark. While the three-day race weekend is over, the 2014 ‘ride’ continues; Pelotonia is accepting donations through October 10, 2014....

N.P.H. Italia Haiti

For the 3rd time, Duggal has worked with curator, Virginia Villari, to produce several graphics and imagery. This time Duggal worked with Villari to produce images for an event to help raise money for Haiti, organized by creamhotel (which Villari is curator for). The event is being presented in the United States for the first time and will be showcasing the work of Italian photographer Stefano Guindani. Guindani launched his photographic book “Haiti – Through the Eye of Stefano Guindani” (Electa Mondadori Publishing), which was accompanied by a one-month long exhibition of the photographs he took during his numerous trips to Haiti. For the last two years, the proceeds from the book and the photographs have been used to raise funds for the Francesca Rava Foundation NPH Italia, whose latest project is to build a new orphanage for Haitian children. The Francesca Rava Foundation is an Italian non-profit organization...

Saturdays@Duggal Launches!

January 10th saw the launch of the Duggal Big Picture Foundation’s much anticipated Saturdays@Duggal program! This event was the first in a monthly program of art-related workshops for children ages 6-12. It was our inaugural run with only Duggal families in attendance. Based on the undeniable success of the pilot event, we are delighted to announce that the program will now open up to all children in our community, with our next event scheduled for Saturday, February 7th. Saturdays@Duggal was designed to expose children to the visual arts with a concentration in photography and to give parents an opportunity to include their children in a worthwhile and imaginative weekend activity. In attendance with Duggal families were five students from the NYC SALT Program, a wonderful non-profit organization which teaches high school students photography, pairs them with mentors in the photo community, and provides SAT tutoring and college counseling to prepare them for higher...
